Jason Bateman: It's Tough For Child Stars

JASON BATEMAN: IT'S TOUGH FOR CHILD STARS
Jason Bateman doesn't think it's a ''good idea'' for children to be actors.

The ''Change-Up'' star landed his first major acting role in the sitcom ''Silver Spoons'' - which ran from 1982 to 1986 - when he was 12 and then went onto to star in numerous TV shows and films, including ''Teen Wolf Too'', throughout his teen years.

Although Jason is grateful for the opportunities he was given he admits having a career at such a young age did have some negative effects on him.

When asked his thoughts on child stars, he said: ''It's not a good idea. For one an acting career is quite unstable and also because things in this business are very unfair. Most of all I think it's highly questionable to put a child in front of a camera and ask that child to pretend to be someone else. Children need to find out who they really are first. When you're growing up child acting isn't very clever. I personally didn't survive it completely undamaged.''

In the 90s, Jason was a regularly drug user but he quit around 10 years ago and insists it was the best decision he ever made in his life.

The 42-year-old actor - who is married to Amanda Anka, with whom he has a four-year-old daughter Francesca and is currently expecting another child - told Swiss newspaper Sonntags Zeitung: ''I don't know if it's ten years (since I quit). I stopped counting. I lived an excessive life, at some point it was to time for a different lifestyle.''

Nicki Minaj: I Once Contemplated Suicide

Nicki Minaj is arguably the biggest female in hip-hop, but the 28-year-old admits that just a few years ago, she felt completely worthless.

"I kept having doors slammed in my face," Minaj tells the November issue of Cosmopolitan. "I felt like nothing was working. I had moved out on my own, and here I was thinking I'd have to go home."

Things got so bleak that Minaj contemplated suicide.

AUDIO: Hear Nicki's single with Jay Sean

"It was just one dead end after another. At one point, I was, like, 'What would happen if I just didn't wake up?' That's how I felt. Like, 'Maybe I should just take my life?'"

With her dark days now behind her, Minaj (real name: Onika Tanya Maraj) predicts her star will only become brighter with time.

"I will have put out five albums and will have an Oscar and Grammys," she says. "And I will be getting married and, a couple of years after that, will have a bun in the oven. My whole life is about being Nicki Minaj now. It's a never-ending saga."

Mark Wright flaunts post boot camp bod?

Earlier in the month Mark Wright spent some time at the No.1 Boot Camp in Ibiza and here he is proudly showing off the results!

As well as flaunting his newly honed bod, the single TOWIE star ? who returned to our screens last night on The Only Way Is Essex ? has been speaking about his ideal woman.

He said, ?I don?t need to have someone beautiful-looking on my arm and I don?t like skinny girls. Not all of my girlfriends have had perfect figures or been amazing-looking. As long as I think she?s beautiful, that?s all that matters. I?d go out with someone who was pig-ugly as long as I liked them. I?m one million percent a softie.?

It sounds like somebody is trying to counteract recent stories in the press accusing him of criticising ex-fiance Lauren Goodger?s weight.
He continued, ?I like a bit of meat. And I don?t like boob jobs.?

?I?m definitely not into the typical Essex look. When Lauren started getting hair extensions and wearing fake tan I used to rant about it all the time. I once threw her fake tan out the window!?

?I?d marry Eva Mendes tomorrow. Cheryl Cole is beautiful, but she?s a bit too skinny now. Some of The Saturdays are fit too. Actually, I don?t want them to know they?re hot ? I like to play hard-to-get!?

Full interview appears in this week?s special TOWIE edition of more! magazine, on sale tomorrow.
